1st Place ChemE Car Performance
- University of Illinois Chicago
UIC's car is called "Lightning McClaren". Its propulsion system runs off of a lead acid battery, whose case was custom made. The stopping mechanism is an iodine clock reaction. The car stops when the clock reaction changes color, this is monitored by an Arduino circuit connected to a photoresistor.
